The Njord Performance service gives vessel owners and charterers full transparency over the performance of their energy-saving devices, as well as the fuel and emission cuts achieved. The first customer has signed up for the new service.
Green tech business Njord, which works with owners and charterers in tanker, dry-bulk, container and gas shipping to cut fuel consumption and emissions through energy-saving devices (ESDs), is launching a new end-to-end performance management service. It provides vessel owners with full transparency over the performance of their vessels and technologies, with the goal to optimise performance and CII ratings and increasing vessel tradability.
“At Njord, we work to accelerate decarbonisation through green technology. Transparency over how vessels and the technologies themselves are performing is crucial if owners are to determine what further measures are needed,” says Frederik Pind, Managing Director at Njord. “However, determining and installing the right set-up can be challenging, given the wide range of auto-logging suppliers and solutions on the market.”
“Njord Performance offers owners an end-to-end performance management service, from the selection and installation of auto-logging technology to performance measurement and subsequent advisory service.”
Njord is a supplier-neutral partner and works with a broad range of suppliers. This means it can select the best combination of auto-logging technology and vessel performance systems for vessels. Once a suitable auto-logging suite has been designed, Njord deploys the package to the vessel; sets up the data infrastructure and models the vessel in the vessel performance management system, and calculates the baseline for the individual ship.
Following installation, a dedicated performance manager from the Njord team monitors performance daily, providing the customer with reports and concrete actions addressing the performance of energy-saving devices, as well as fuel and emission savings. Based on the data, Njord offers insights to both boost performance of current energy-saving devices, while continuously suggesting new devices to apply.
The subscription-based service can either be bought as part of the normal Njord package or as a standalone product.
