The pursuit of cutting greenhouse gas emissions through green tech is picking up pace as new decarbonisation regulations come into force in early 2023.
More than 30 owners from across container, bulk, gas and tanker shipping have signed contracts with Njord since the green tech business was brought to market in February this year and the business is looking to enter more partnerships in the future. To meet the rising interest from the market, the business is doubling the size of its organisation by number of employees.
“It is great to see that shipowners are increasingly adopting green technology to cut fuel consumption and emissions from their fleets and that they see Njord as a valuable solution on their pathway to zero,” says Frederik Pind, Managing Director at Njord. “We are scaling our organisation to meet that rising demand.”
Njord offers shipowners a full-service package, including screening for potential, designing the solution and assisting owners with the installation of energy-saving devices, along with financing.
The business is hiring for technical and commercial positions in Copenhagen, Singapore, Mumbai and Greece. Job ads will be posted on an ongoing basis.
Njord is a green technological business powered by Cargill, Mitsui and Maersk Tankers, which aims to accelerate cost-effective and industry-wide greenhouse gas reductions. Njord helps shipowners and charterers in container, bulk, tanker and gas shipping to become more efficient by offering advisory and technical solutions that help shipowners cut emissions. It offers a full-service package, including screening for potential, designing the solution and assisting owners with the installation of energy-saving devices.
